About Peanuts Travels

This blog shares my travel experiences esp in mountain trekking which I have developed a great interest since my 1st climb in Taiwan. Since then I
have been trying to climb more mountains whenever I can. And to couple my climbs with leisure travelling to places of adventure. The freedom of doing what
you want and where you want, is the true meaning of travelling.

Hi, I have dropped you a message ytd/early this morning.
I urgently need your help.
Me and my friends will be arriving in Taiwan next week. We would like do the Yushan hike, thus we need to contact a local hiking company that could help arrange the hike for us.

Thank you.

Hi, you cannot climb yushan. You need to apply for park permit which ties back to the lodging booking at paiyun lodge. Which is on a ballot system and is always in high demand. There is not enough time to secure the permits. You can visit yushan national park website to understand more on the procedure to apply for a climb to yushan. You cant climb yushan with a permit.

Alternatively if you want to do some simple day hikes above 3000m. You can go hehuanshan near cingjing. Many of the peaks are next to the road and does not require permits. Only the north and west peak need to.appply mountain permits which is easily given. You can visit the taroko national park website.

Have you done any high mountain hiking or trekking before? Having the right gear is important to enjoy the hike
