7 Jun 2011, The City of Oslo
This was our last day in Oslo. We had almost covered most of the city attractions, so today was just some last minute shopping and walking around. We started off the day late, close to lunch time and straight we headed for the Karl Johan Gate street again.

We order a hearty meal at TGIF just near the Stortinget park. We took our time with our lunch as we didn’t have much place to go. After lunch, we went over to the Nobel Peace centre, again just 15mins walk from the restaurant. We made a stop at the tourist office to see the crowd and anymore attractions that we missed out in Oslo.

When we got to the Nobel Peace centre, we made a visit to the souvenir shop inside the buidling. We did not tour the centre as you need to pay for entrance and since we weren’t quite keen in history, we gave it a miss. Down the road from here is the Aker Brygge, the marina area where the private boats and yatchs were parked by the rows of restaurants. More shopping can be found inside the buildings with the olden days façade, but behind those red brick stones are modern shopping malls with glass and steel structures.

Again it was shopping and shopping. It was a leisure day for us, eating icecream by the marina and watching people walking by. We had dinner in one of the restaurant here, having a good table in a corner looking at the people walking by at the Aker Brygge marina. After dinner over spagetti and pizza, we took a slow walk back to our hotel to end our trip to Norway. Back in the hotel, it was the last packing time for us as we reorganized our stuffs for the long flight home.
8 Jun 2011, The Journey Home
The weather was great for a day of touring. The sun was up high and skies were blue. Too bad we had to leave the city of Oslo in such great weather. At least we don’t have to brave the rain while dragging our bags to the train station.

A tougher 20mins walk to the station with the bags. We bought the Flytoget tickets and off to the airport. No one checked our tickets as we had to swipe our tickets at the airport station to leave the station.
Here comes the FLytoget |
After checking in our bags, it was off to the immigration and after getting into the terminal, we had our first and last sushi bento at one of the seafood café inside the terminal. We took the 2:15pm flight from Oslo to Bangkok and then transit in Bangkok for the 7:25am flight back to Singapore. The return flight seemed shorted , maybe because of the timezone as to us, it was always day light from the time we leave Oslo and landed back in Singapore.
